I'd make a joke but this is too tragic.

How the heck does anyone familiar with firearms load live rounds and think they're blank?  Why, even with blanks were people downrange (as in any possible bullet path)?
All tipoes and misspelings are copi-righted.  Pleeze do not reuse without ritten persimmons  :D

+1 Haz, Decorum prohibits me from saying something rude, in light of a clear tradgedy.

No wonder they couldn't win a war...when you use your own citizens for target practice public support drops rapidly.  Then again since it was the french military...that says it all.

That is absolutely disgusting  and I would expect this from the French, I don't believe that this was a mistake.

My guess is that the soldiers who where doing the shooting did not load their own magazines. 

More likely that someone in the armory loaded a bunch of them to be handed out....and, probably deliberately, put the live magazine in the box.

The Sargent still should have checked, epically when  he knew he was going to be firing into a crowd...and whoever set up the demo calling for firing into the crowd should be tried on more than negligence.

Anybets on rather or not this was the 1st time a french weapon was actually fired?  We know they are droped alot.



Now with that said, Atleast 2 people fooked up big time here.

supply for having live ammo where thier should have been blanks, and the person(s) that loaded and fired said live ammo.
I always break all the clay pigeons,  some times its even with lead.
