Just a Thought

If a shooter is firing say, 500 rounds of 9mm a month at the range, is there a barrel life span where you need to replace it?

When you can demonstrate it is the gun and not you doing the missing. ;)

I sorta remember hearing about HP rifle that at 5000 rounds you need to think (maybe) about it.

9mm I gotta think is WAAAAYYYY up there. (40- 50 thousand??)

You hear about barrels with 20-50000 through them all the time.
When seconds mean the difference between life and death, the police will be minutes away.

You are either SOLVING the problem, or you ARE the problem.

The question is, do you shoot well enough to be able to notice declining accuracy due to the barrel?

If its a Glock,.... Hawkfish will be posting shortly,... ;) However, many on this forum who shoot in competition, or range time to the max, will attest to thousands and thousands of rounds through a barrel.

My personal experience, is my grandfather's 1891 Argentine Mauser, there is no way to calculate how many thousands of rounds that have been fired before I have shot an additional 1000 through it.  BUT it shoots as good as I can aim, and has never let me down.

9mm, you should have no issues for a long, long, time, and be a helluva shot!

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.
