And if you have a VHF radio, there are times you might catch one of the Ham Radio operators making contacts.   Doesn't happen often on voice, but I've heard them once or twice.

Here's a real-time tracking site.

Also, place like Heavens Above give tracking info as well.

It's why the women that come from ND are so frisky. It's so cold that for about 6 months a year, you have an innie.  :-[

BTW we are kicking off spring on Sat with the first kayak trip down the river this season. I just checked the reports and.......(drum roll please) The river flow is 1580 cfm, with an average temperature of 37 degrees Fahrenheit. I am anticipating an ice cream headache from hell.  ;D

I've also done this off and on for several years. A former boss brought it to my attention years ago.
I'll have the ISS at (-2.0) super-bright visibility for two minutes this evening at around 8:15 and an even brighter visibility (-3.8 ) tomorrow. Hope it isn't cloudy.

I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

You know, you could always just stay out of the water.
It is not recommended to go swimming when the water has the consistency of grape jelly.
It's one of those "age and experience" things.     ::)   ;D

That's what the dry suit is for. Remember we only get about 90 days of warm weather. Besides, whats a little hypothermia between friends.  ;D

Water only "warms" up to 50 degrees by fall.  Better to beat the mosquitoes, anyway :D
