It's okay if your name is Gordy. Or Gourdy.  :P

Lockheed During WW.II (unbelievable 1940s pictures)

This is  pretty neat--special effects during the 1940's:  I have never seen  these pictures or knew that we had gone this far to protect us.

During  World War II the Army Corps of Engineers needed to hide the Lockheed  Burbank Aircraft Plant to protect it from Japanese air attack. They  covered it with camouflage netting to make it look like a rural  subdivision from the air.
(Besides everything else, check out the  cars.)

The 1st one is before .............

The rest are after the covering........

The Skunk Works, right? I believe Disney artists had a hand in that. I recall hearing that years ago.

Years ago, they had a hand in defending our nation... now they are part of an organization that won't allow patriotic emblems, i.e. flag lapel pins.  It's pretty sad how far things have declined in a relatively short amount of time.

A little nostalgia for you older car lovers:

"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

"When it comes to the enemy, just because they ain't pullin' a trigger, doesn't mean they ain't totin' ammo for those that are."~PegLeg
