Charging: The standard 120v trickle charger takes upwards of 12+ hours. I bought a 240V charger separate (I do my own wiring at the house), that takes something less than 3.5 - 4 hours. But charging is a diminishing returns activity so really after about 3hrs it's mostly charged.
Dealers have the super charging stations that can charge it in even less time.
Just FYI: 240Vac chargers run $486 locally. I dug around on the net and found a company in CA, that has hacked the charger and it actually works on dual voltage. I have a plug adapter and I can plug in either to 240Vac or 120Vac. You can do a trade-in for less than $300 from them. Send your 120Vac charger and they send you the hacked 240/120 version. And no, the dealer doesn't care if you turn in the hacked charger. According to the CA company, used Leaf's just go straight from the dealer, when you turn them in, to the wholesale auction lot, where they're being bought by an export company and being shipped to Scandinavia. They don't care about the stock, US charger.
