A couple of weeks ago I sent a rather scathing email to Senator Barrasso absolutely livid over his involvement with sending money to Thad Cochran's campaign and the despicable tactics used against Chris McDaniel. It was the last staw for me after his Obamacare votes and voting to send weapons to the Muslim Brotherhood.
As usual I expected, at most a form letter in return. Well, I must have struck a nerve, because he actually called me yesterday. I talked with him for about 15 min. He tried to dance around most of issues telling me that "those bills had essential parts to them" I responded by saying that if they were that essential, then they should have been able to stand on their own merits.
We closed talking about the situation in Iraq and what Congress is doing to put pressure on Obama to make the right call here. He pointed out that Obama has a pen and a phone, and doesn't feel he needs Congress. I asked when impeachment proceedings would be taking place. After all, they impeached Clinton, and Nixon for WAY less. He claims to want to see that happen. I'm not holding my breath.
We did agree on one point, and that is Israel. We are both of the belief that Israel feels abandoned and threatened, and will start looking at first strike options. He is all in favor of letting Israel handle it. As am I.
