New Ruger Commander
« on: January 09, 2015, 07:57:03 AM »
I'm liking the whole idea of this new Ruger lightweight Commander model BUT...
I'm done buying new model guns. Nothing that hasn't been out in the world for a few years for me.
I got the blues as my companion.

The LW Commander is something I've wanted for a while....along with a compact 1911.....but I'm like you, Jay......I like the looks of the Ruger, but I'll wait and see if there are any noted "bugs" in the thing.

No fun being on the "Bleeding Edge" of a new product, huh?

Wait at least a year. I guarantee there will be issues with their fixtures and fine tuning the process.

Not the platform of the 1911 itself....JMB pretty much nailed that....there are companies out there making them today, off his original design, and they work......it's just Ruger's recent (last ten years?) need to put out products that might be slightly 'off'......

By trying to make something better, modern makers don't always hit the ball.

My Para LTC was flawless!  I miss it nearly as much as my rat mutt, Yorkie, Harley!

I lost both to  life's struggle and look forward to the day I can replace the .45 and learn to love another K9!

Para USA has one if you can't wait until Ruger makes one and you'll probably save $100.

Colt still makes a lightweight commander but I don't know how much it costs. I don't know which is the better gun between Colt and Ruger either. Opinions?
