Just look at the direction the world has headed in the last 50 years involving nuclear weapons, and who controls them. In the late 50's and early 60's you basically had the U.S. and the Soviet Union. We hated each other, but both countries valued life. Nikita Khrushchev, the bad guy on the block, proved that by backing down during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He did so based on Kennedy's stand at the time. As bad as he was, he did possess the common sense that in a nuclear war there would be no winners.

Today you have a bunch of total nut job countries like North Korea, Pakistan, and soon Iran who have gone nuclear. All of these nations are crazy, and run by idiots. And all but welcome death to their citizens at the chance to kill Americans, and damage our country. All of these countries hate Jews, Americans, and the West in general, along with what it represents. (Freedom and Christianity). It's only a matter of time before someone who has zero value for human life, detonates one somewhere and causes massive radioactive contamination, and monumental loss of life. Then all bets are off.

This is all a bit like giving a 12 year old a new Ferrari, then wondering why he wrecked it.

One thing about North Korea.
It's known that they have nukes, and they are working on a delivery system, (long range missile) but, if you look back over the history of the NK nuke program they have not been using them in the sense of taking out SK or Japan, they are getting more mileage out of them on the economic front, extorting much needed oil and funds from the other involved nations. Unless they are pushed into a corner it is very unlikely NK will use their nukes in the military sense of the phrase.
The whole problem could have been prevented 60 years ago if the UN and Truman administration had the courage.
Iran is another case where courage by a Democrat administration could have headed off 30+ years of confrontation. But expecting Democrats to act with courage in the face of America's enemies is like expecting the sun to rise in the West.

I looked up appeasement in the dictionary and it said to see the Democrat National Committee.

Such a shocker that if you pay blackmail money to a fruitcake nut job regime, for some reason they never stop asking for more money.

This website is pretty interesting as well. It tracks daily radiation "leakage" from nuclear power plants, military bases, nuclear waste storage centers, and places like that. Most anywhere that deals with anything radioactive. Check out the area around southern, Japan. (Nagasaki).  While the area around Fukushima looks surprisingly low.

Since we are talking about Nukes and nuclear waste, thought I'd pass on something I've recently became aware of.

Thorium nuclear power plants. 

It seems we got started on Uranium plants in the 60s because they fit nicely with producing nuclear weapons...which were more fashionable back then.

The nuke plants used for producing bomb material (plutonium) are commonly called "Breeder reactors".
