There is only one benefit that I see with Glock going outside their comfort zone, and Glock buyers bothering with what every one else did years ago.
That is that it allows you to have your full range of pistols using the same firing system, therefore having similar trigger pull and breaking point. It would allow you a little greater accuracy with out having to stop and think, OK, this one has the safety to remember, the other has the heavy trigger etc. There will still be variations but less drastic From "pocket pistol" up through 10MM hunting handgun.

Glock, (much like Apple), has been getting fat and lazy lately. They've been enormously profitable for years selling very good products, and now are getting a bit stagnant in the marketplace. (Again, just like Apple). So they try something they never should have thought about in the first place. (Does the "Apple Watch" ring a bell?)

They should stick with what they know. Bringing out something new for the sake of bringing out something new, rarely if ever works out very well. This single stack 9MM will do about as much for Glock, as Apple paying this broad $83 Million a year to straighten them out.
