That would be quite a brush cutter Frank. If you could get a shoulder holster, it would look like a cross between Victoria's Secret and Soldier of Fortune.
Mac.

No holster, just a single point sling. Then all I need is a CCW so I can wear it under my coat.  ;D

Several years ago I was at the range with my Contender pistol. I had a compensated .223 Remington barrel and it was loud. It's one of those guns that had a loudener instead of a silencer.  :)  When I fired the first shot a woman cop on the firing line almost dropped her revolver on the ground. People looked at me like I set off a bomb or something. Now the barrel is only 9" long and the compensator is gone. People still look around when it goes boom but it's not as bad.

Welcome aboard the site, 64.

Do NOT take this as gospel, just trying out what I think I know. A .223 lower that is registered with the BATFE as a pistol should not be directly converted to a rifle. Get a .223 lower that is registered as a rifle, get the tax stamp FIRST, then build out the lower and buy an upper SBR.

You may be able to convert the pistol to the SBR rifle, but I will let others show you the proper steps.

Swing by the new member forum and introduce yourself properly.

you can convert a legal pistol into a legal rifle, with out a stamp, but not a sbr.   you can't go the other way with out a stamp

if you want to convert a pistol to a long gun legally, start by installing a 16 inch barrel, then add the stock.  doing it the other way would be creating a aow.
