on how I spent my tax refund
« on: April 16, 2015, 04:40:51 PM »
a local club has started a monthly carbine match, so a couple of the old guys I hang out with decided it would be fun to shoot it with 9mm carbines... couple of ARs, couple of Mech Techs in the group...figured since I already had the 9mm lower and magazines (except for the long one) might as well do it the easy way... so sent most of my tax refund to the nice people in Kalispel, Montana....

Congrats on the buy, Les!

But, a refund of money the .gov didn't need means you're giving the asshats too much of it in the first place!

I broke even this year between the Feds and state and put what they would have taken and returned in my 401K...

That's about thirteen years in a row...

Congrats on the Mech-Tech Les. I love mine except for the skinny little screw that holds the stock on. It looks like it would be easy to break but no problem so far. If it does break I'll JB Weld it back together or else use a bigger bolt and nut. I have a  CCU for one of my Para Ordnance .45s. The boost in energy from the carbine barrel is probably around 1/3 more depending on the ammo. It likes +P as well as standard ammo and seems to eat whatever I feed it. I already had some 15 round mags and bought a couple of 20 round mags that I rebuilt with better springs and such that I haven't tried out yet. With the temps in the 60s I don't have an excuse not to go to the range anymore. Let us know how it works out for you.

Timothy... yeah, I know on the overpayment, but since retirement, it was just easier to take out 15% of my retirement off the top...it covers what little interest the other stuff makes...
