21 Weapons Stolen from Gun Range in Arlington (Florida)
« on: August 14, 2008, 10:38:54 AM »
JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Someone smashed their way into a gun range in Arlington and walked out with 21 guns.

The burglary happened at the Bullseye Indoor Gun Range at Atlantic and University.

The thieves made off with several 9 mm pistols, a .50-caliber handgun, semiautomatic pistol, a pump action shotgun, two .38-caliber revolvers with pink pearl grips, and a number of other weapons.

The Magnum Research .50 Action Express Desert Eagle pistol was the most expensive taken--retaling above $1400. The .50 AE is a large caliber handgun with a six inch barrel. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms labels the pistol as a "destructive device," putting it in the same category as hand grenades. They are banned for civilian use in some states.

Bullseye Indoor Gun Range has no video surveillance system.

If you have any information call our partner First Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.

You'll remain anonymous and could receive a cash reward of up to $1,000 if your information leads to an arrest.

A .50 AE in the same catgory as a hand grenade give me a break. There are plenty of rifles with more power and what about the .500 S&W. I guess it's because the .50 AE feeds from a magazine.

I guess that M2 Benalli 12g. 3" Slug Gun, I got from my Dad,  with a 1:28 twist would just be a "plinker". ;D

I use it when dump trucks come in season. ;D

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

The writer is misinformed on the .50 cal=DD issue. Too much sensationalism by the agenda driven media.

The Desert Eagle is the world's first crew-served handgun, but that doesn't make it a DD like a similar sized grenade launcher. Too much "assault weapons" brainwashing.
