when I first carried my LCP (I currently carry a G42 which I can shoot better) Florida statutes at the time were pretty specific on not printing.. I modified an Andrews Pistol pocket with a kydex flap, that rotated out of the way when the pistol was gripped, which did a good job of alleviating printing... when I modified an Andrews for the G42, I used the technique from Recluse holster utilizing a slit down the spine of the holster, so your hand can grip the frame, but still have a fairly large section of holster leather to block printing
from tests I've seen on the internet, most of the .380 using the older 90grain Hornady XTP bullets make the 12" gelatin test... that's what I carry in the G42

this will give you an idea of what the slit allows.... check out the Recluse line of holsters... this is a repurposed Andrews
