Body Armor Recommendations
« on: September 06, 2015, 07:39:58 AM »
I have a son in New Orleans going to seminary the next 2 years.  I'd like to buy some body armor for him and/or a personal shield (i.e., brief case/backpack) to have.  I think makes sense for him to have some soft armor at the very least with the ability to add to it being a nice option.

So, I come up with two primary uses:  1) something he can wear under a suit when he preaches or is being activist someday and 2) then something for the "get out of town" scenario(s) to leave the city for the country.  Hey, we all know that has already happened in New Orleans once 10 years ago....it can happen again and it doesn't have to be weather driven.

Any of you guys who actually own/use body armor I'd appreciate your input on what to buy and where to buy it.  Since I'm going to miss 911 in my timing it will probably be a very, very nice Christmas present.

Thanks,
Ken

I agree, Second Chance was my choice. Started wearing before the department bought for us and continued with it after the department offered another brand. Wore Second Chance until I retired. Chose to buy it myself because of the comfort. Make sure it is fitted properly.

Thanks guys.

I hope he never needs it...but the truth is liberals hate the truth from conservatives who believe in the principles that built this nation.

I'll make certain the fitting is paid attention to also.

Make sure it will be legal where he is. Some places have outlawed private body armor.

Yes, I think Texas has it outlawed.  We can get it here in Oklahoma.  He's thinking about getting a police commission...I wonder if that would make a difference?
