Reaction to possible Trump election like Regan???

I am posing this question to those of us my age or older.  ::)

I started to think about all of this hoopla over a Trump election  being the end of the world or something like that and it occurred to me that when Reagan was going through the presidential election process I heard similar statements about his election. Not as many and not as loud but a lot of people were saying he (Reagan) would bring about the destruction of the USA. Remember when he was elected Carter was in power and the world opinion of our defense capabilities was at an all-time low partly in thanks to the Iran hostage situation. Please keep in mind I am in NO WAY trying to compare Trump to Reagan other than to say the reaction of a lot of people to his possible election was as negative as the reaction to the possible election of Trump.

Thoughts??
The time for action is upon us and the enemy is at our gates. Let us not allow them one more inch of advancement but instead throw them through the gates of Hell.

Just like then, the Republican BASE, not those assholes of the "establishment", were opposing communism wile the Democrats were embracing our enemies .

I agree. While I know the Democrats are as against Trump as they were Reagan back than , was the "establishment" against Reagan as much as they are against Trump now?

Not as openly, but all the wimps were afraid he was going to start WWIII.Including the Soviets, look up Operation Ryan" some time.

Also note that the Iran Student Hostage crisis which lasted for 444 days with no progress was ended on the day of Regan's first inauguration, 1/20/81

Some how Regan becoming president had more effect on the situation than 444 days of Carter's Presidency.

If Trump is serious about becoming president and  not just splitting the conservative vote (still my greatest concern about him) I'd predict his election will have a very similar effect.

Trump has no principles.   I don't trust him to stand up for anything, except Trump.  However, given what may come down to the alternatives...

Hi;

     I am leary of Trump because He has everything in his life now and why would he put himself under a microscope for at least 4 years of both sides possibly calling and doing everthing they can to discredit him ?

     IF he is the nominee - I will vote for him in the hope that he will be conservative OR a RHINO at the least.

     I doubt he will cause any scandal ( maybe a department head ) because he just doesn't want negative vibes for the rest of his life. He may just get his ajenda completed in 4 years and go back to NYC or Florida.

     He certainly will not have the press as his friend or backup flunkies like Barry has.

     My guy's were,  Walker, Rubio   now I look at Cruz , but if it is the Donald - then I will hold my nose and pull the lever on election day !
