Voice transmissions will be on single sideband in the Amateur Radio General license portion of the bands.  Here are frequencies for voice that are used as guides.  They will be transmitting above and below these frequencies but this is a good place to start. 

3,860 KHz LSB
7,260 KHz LSB
14,260 KHz USB
21,360 KHz USB
28,360 KHz USB
50,160 KHz USB

Also there will be some operating AM radio on 3880 KHz - 3885 KHz and 7290 KHz.  Often using the ships original equipment.

Below is a link to a Ham listening/reporting service.  People make a contact or hear a contact and post the callsign of the contact and of themselves.  It makes it much easier to find a station you are looking for. 

For instance, if during this time you want to listen to the USS Missouri for a contact you'd watch for or put a search in for KH6BB.  Then you'd see what frequency they were last hear on.

Go to that link above and the ship's name has a link for most of them.  You may want to visit one of them in your area during the museum ship's weekend.

Tom, you aren't too far from the Albacore.  It's an interesting sub that was a test bed for modern design.

And you guys around Charleston, South Carolina, can visit the HL Hunley.  The world's first successful combat submarine and check out the Ham operations there.
