Heck, we hunt just about everything you can think of here in Ga.....except the really big north American stuff like elk and moose.
They even tried to bring in some blacktail deer a while ago, but I've never seen one here.
We have some really nice whitetails though and it's been a while since I got one. My son got 6 last year.

We even have a bunch of wild turkeys taking up along the creek about 500 yds behind my place. I took pics this past spring of one about 100 yds behind the house.

Maybe I can ship you some hogs..... ;D ;D ;D ;D

I do love the ol bacon!!!

I am also thinking about the new 338 Fed. Read lot about both and am limited on the 338 as far as gun makers go. Price is about the same also. Ammo is alot less than the 7mag. I don't reload, "yet" and have heard the 338 Fed is tuff to get reloading supplies.

All the .338 Fed is a legitimate .338-08 which has been around for a while.  Nothing hard about reloading.  Same powders (generally) you'd use in a .308Win.  I really like it in my Tikka T3.   I just liked the idea of having a little more frontal area than a .308..   I can use .308 cases and neck them up.     Even some of the AR platforms now come in .338Fed.   You are dependent on Federal if you want store bought ammo though.

My strategy is to stay with the .308 case.    So initially at the ends of the spectrum, I have the .243 and the .338Fed.  Then, if I feel the need to go in-between I'll go 7mm-08.   And of course if I find myself filthy rich, I can add the .260 and the .308.   Only thing missing is a .22-.23 caliber.

Here's a couple of pics of a 9-point taken by my son this evening (about 5:30 est) on our property here in south central Georgia.

He started not to go because his rifle was on the cleaning rack with the barrel saturated with Kroil and I wasn't finished cleaning it.
So, my wife talked him into using her rifle and less than thirty minutes after he got into the blind this old boy walked out. It was a pretty old deer from the looks of him. Almost all his teeth were gone and his hair was graying.

Close range (< 50 yds) with a Remington Model 742 in .243 win.

Thanks.
What type of game animals can you hunt in Peru?
Do the game animals vary from country to country in South America like they do here from state to state?
My next door neighbor went hunting for a week in Argentina last year, but all he hunted was doves.

yeah, it does vary.. here in Peru we have the Andes mt.s desert, and the Amazon. all kinds of weird stuff to kill in the jungle  ;D . I'm still trying to find out what all is available, I know we have boar, deer, dove, etc. and I'm sure there's plenty of exotic stuff that would taste good too. not too many people hunt here so it's hard to get info on.
