OBAMA
28% on profit from ALL home sales.  (How does this affect you? If you sell your home and make a profit, you will pay 28% of your gain on taxes. If you are heading toward retirement and would like to down-size your home or move into a retirement community, 28% of the money you make from your home will go to taxes. This proposal will adversely affect the elderly who are counting on the income from their homes as part of their retirement income.)

DIVIDEND TAX

MCCAIN
 15% (no change)

OBAMA
39.6% - (How will this affect you? If you have any money invested in stock market, IRA, mutual funds, college funds, life insurance, retirement accounts, or anything that pays or reinvests dividends, you will now be paying nearly 40% of the money earned on taxes if Obama becomes president. The experts predict that 'Higher tax rates on dividends and capital gains would crash the stock market, yet do absolutely nothing to cut the deficit.')

INCOME TAX

MCCAIN

(no changes)
 Single making 30K - tax $4,500
Single making 50K - tax $12,500

Married making 75K - tax $21,000

Under Obama, your taxes could almost double!

INHERITANCE TAX

MCCAIN
 - 0% (No change, Bush repealed this tax)

OBAMA
 Restore the inheritance tax

Many families have lost businesses, farms, ranches, and homes that have been in their families for generations because they could not afford the inheritance tax. Those willing their assets to loved ones will only lose them to these taxes.

NEW TAXES PROPOSED BY OBAMA

New government taxes proposed on homes that are more than 2400 square feet.  New gasoline taxes (as if gas weren't high enough already) New taxes on natural resources consumption (heating gas, water, electricity)  New taxes on retirement accounts, and last but not least....New taxes to pay for socialized medicine so we can receive the same level of medical care as other third-world countries!!!

Even though I am torn over the option of voting for a 3rd party candidate, I respect and agree with Bob Barr more than McCain. If you have the guts to vote your conscience and want to know more about Barr check out his website.

This concept was "Heavily" debated on this forum, yes, Barr has merit and points that appeal to many.  The perverbial big BUT is and shall remain: "He won't win!"  Not this round.  The spectrum of this Pres. election is set.

Do I like the choices;,,... NO! Personally, I thought Romney would have been better. He might be VP, and run in 2012.

If Barr appealed to more of the voting base, and can raise the "bling" to compete in a modern election, great.

Just like Ron Paul, just didn't carry enough of a following to win.
Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

Even from Joe Biden, this makes sense to me:

Posted: Aug. 27 6:54 p.m.
Updated: Today at 12:34 a.m.

DENVER — Joe Biden was nominated for vice president Wednesday evening and declared that the challenges America faces require "more than a good soldier" in the White House, hailing Barack Obama as a wise leader who can deliver the change the nation needs.
 END.

Fine Joe, the nation DOES need more than a good soldier.

But we can't settle for anything less!!

Mac.
Standing up for your Right to lay down suppressive fire since 1948!

EXACTLY! Obama has done nothing except learn how to speak in public and schmooze. The rest was the media doing his marketing for him. My Little Show Pony.

Bob Barr, sadly, is NOT a viable candidate, in that he hasn't a snowball's chance in hell of winning.  As a result, a vote for Barr is a vote for Obama, much like a vote for Ross Perot was a vote for Bill Clinton.  Is McCain an exciting choice for President?  No.  Is he the best candidate with a chance at victory?  Absolutely.
I love waking up every morning knowing that Donald Trump is President!!

+1

Give Barr points for being favorable to gun owners BUT he is as weak or weaker than Obama on national security.  Because of this, even if he had a ligitimate shot at winning, I still would not vote for him.
