Please don't take this thread or this post as being preachy, I'm just trying to help people post You Tube links easily.
Here's the problem with Solos's post from "Drying some .223.." thread.
The link was indeed invalid. From the quote here's what was posted. I put the
X between "you" and "tube" so everyone can see the details.
[you
Xtube]http://youtube/D8AcaRPBCC4?t=9
Notice anything wrong?
Let me highlight some things.
[you
Xtube]http://
youtube/D8AcaRPBCC4?t=9
Notice the Domain Name portion of the URL
//youtube/ That is actually an invalid domain name. It is missing the Top Level (TLD), like .com, .net, .org, .tv, etc.
YouTube links come in many variations depending on whether it's a straight reference or for embedding in a web page or with special formatting. However, if you take the YouTube code/address,
D8AcaRPBCC4, just that code, not any special symbols and put it between the YouTube tags it will work. Forget all the other HTTP, HTTPs, or other nonsense.
Again with the
X so you can see it.
[you
Xtube]D8AcaRPBCC4
And without the
X so it will work.
