The Browning BDA is a sig Sauer P220 imported by Browning in the late 70's early 80's I believe, I could be wrong about the 70's. Anywho, they made them in a few different calibers 9mm and 45 being the more popular models. Eventually Sig themselves started formally importing them and the rest is history.

You be right!

I bought my Browing BDA (which is a SIG P220 with the mag release in the butt) new in 1978.  Match grade accuracy and 100% reliability.  Pretty much the same as my newer (2003) SIG P220.

Ksail - I had a SW 3906 that was a fantastic handgun.  Andy Cannon did a remarkably slick action job on it as well as rounding off or "melting" the edges.  Early magazines were 8 round but later on they made 9 round mags for it.  For a single stack 9mm, it was pretty heavy but with that being said, it was so easy to fire.  The slim grip was a really great fit to my hand.  I sold it (and ten mags) to a friend last year.  One gun I may try to buy back!

But seriously, at that price, with all the other quality 9mm's out there, it just better be not just great, but dammed great.  It better shoot one inch groups at 100 yards carrying a nuclear tipped bullet.  Oh, and a factory service plan where they come to your house to clean and adjust your guns for you.  I don't think that's going to happen, so I think it's just a status symbol to show off to your shooting buddies more than anything else.

2inch groups at 50 yards out of the box won't do it?  ;)

Thanks for the confirmation Ron!
