Careful Bud, I had the difference hammered into me at Parris Island, defending your RIGHT to go shoot , or do anything else for that matter. And the other guys ragging you can say similar things. If you are going to learn about something you should start with the proper nomenclature (names for parts ), would you call a zebra a striped horse ?

I'd rather shoot, but when I talk, I like to know what I'm talking about.
""It may be laid down as a primary position, and the basis of our system, that every Citizen who enjoys the protection of a free Government, owes not only a proportion of his property, but even his personal services to the defence of it, and consequently that the Citizens of America (with a few legal and official exceptions) from 18 to 50 Years of Age should be borne on the Militia Rolls, provided with uniform Arms, and so far accustomed to the use of them, that the Total strength of the Country might be called forth at a Short Notice on any very interesting Emergency." - George Washington. "I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

For Jumbofrank, a single action means, cock the hammer and pull the trigger, it go's bang, single action self loader means, you charge the action, ( load the cartridge ) and pull the trigger and for each depression of the trigger, a single round should fire. A double action has 2 modes of firing, cock the hammer and pull the trigger, or just pull the trigger which cocks the hammer and fires the cartridge. Wikedia be damned, and the link provided nothing. This is just a pet peeve nothing more.

For XDlover, I think the 10/22 action is cool, it has many add ons, to improve the basic firearm, and I walk the walk and talk the talk. No arm chair soldier here.

No one's "putting you down" XD40lover, other forums have a**holes that do, but not this one. Perhaps you take ribs and pet peeves too seriously.

I'm glad you and your family shoot together, and I would be hard pressed to find someone who would disagree with that here.
I was at the range yesterday, trying some 5.56 milsurp ammo I bought at a gun show with my 13 year old son. I finally got the scope where I want it to hit and enjoyed every minute.

Just my .02 cents, man. Haz just has a "thing" for the "c" word.  ;)

Good shooting, and have a great Labor Day.

That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

Whew... this thread sounds like a bunch of ol' ladies bickering.  No offense to any old ladies out there.   ;D  Can't we all just get along, man?
