Me too...I've got 9mm, 357, and 45 acp. Just don't see the need for .40. I wouldn't want to be just one caliber though because of shortages or supply fluctuations. OR if some day we have to scavenge for ammo. It's nice to have options, and when we couldn't find 38SP practice ammo for several months my wife had to cut back because that's all she shoots. I was blasting away with 9 & 45. So an option isn't a bad thing.

um, what exactly does the M stand for?

I've not exactly stayed current on all the new plastic pistols.
I always break all the clay pigeons,  some times its even with lead.

"More expensive"
They made sure not to put that one in the ad. How much more are they running?

I think the "M" is suppossed to be Match-grade.

Eventually some day I may get a 9mm just because the ammo is available in about 100 different countries. I still don't see how the .40 is anything other than a skinnier version of the .45ACP loaded up to 67% higher pressure. If it had some great advantage over .45 ACP I would consider it. But if I wanted something that put that much stress on the pistol I would also want something with more power. Like a .45 Super.

The M stands for "More"...their adds explain what the more is - like match grade barrel and other stuff (can't remember what and can't find the add)!

The 40S&W is supposed to be more like the 10mm load that the FBI was using. I remember when the CHP's adopted it, they said that it was more effective against adversaries in vehicles than the slower 45. I would think 357 sig would be pretty good, but the ammo is so expensive now.

I thought .40 was a little harder to find and about the same price as 45 acp...am I right? IF IT'S CHEAPER I might have to rethink this whole "Don't need .40 deal".

I have 4 40s, including 2 that I use in matches. Ammo runs about 5 or 6 bucks cheaper than 45, a couple dollars more than 9. I get a case of 1000 single use reloads for about 120 at the gunshow. I love 45. I just can't afford 20 bucks a box. Our local chain-type gun store has 9mm aluminum case for 10 a box. I might have to move to a Glock in 9.
