The only thing that really concerns me is that elections are decided by the candidate who can muster the most people to turn-out and vote on the day of the election. The candidate who has the most apathy among his supporters will lose the election.
We know that Obama excites liberals and especially the young. The young get excited by mearly being around exciting things and there is no lack of excitement and hype in the Obama campaign.
So it will probably come down to what conservatives do. It will come down to what the gun culture (to borrow a term from MB) does. It will come down to what the conservative evangelicals do. It will come down to Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Colorado, Wisconsin and a handful of other swing states.
The side with the least amount of voter apathy will win. I think it is still unclear if John McCain has won over the conservative vote. Is Sarah Palin enough? I don’t know but I sure hope so.
All I know is that if you want to defeat Obama you must show up and vote for McCain – especially if you live in a swing state.
