Glock 23 and the Dark Side
« on: September 09, 2008, 04:52:27 PM »
Well today was a great day   :)  my son came over to shoot with me for the first time in, well I can't really even remember when the last time was. Anyway, he told me he bought a 40 cal. but didn't say what it was. So being a 1911 man tried and true as I am I thought he got a deal on a 1911  :(  Nope he pulled one of those Glock things out of his case and all of a sudden from deep inside my gun box my 1911's started to growl. I told my 5" & 6" it was my son's Glock and it would be OK! All kidding aside he got a great deal on it. A model 23 with 3 mags, a cleaning kit for all gun calibers, 100 rds of defensive ammo, for $ 350. At Gander Mountain they are getting $550 for them used. I was really glad that he didn't take the first offer the guy gave him ($500) and talked him down to $350. He was having a hard time getting a good group with WWB ammo but after me showing him where his trigger reset ( Thank You MB ) was and too focus only on his front sight his groups tightened right up and he started to smile. I must say that I have always liked the feel and shoot ability of the Glocks I just could never get use to the grip angle like my 1911's. Any who it was a dam great day for the old man. Its good to be alive  :)

Almost see a credit card commercial,.......the end result?   Priceless.

Congratulations! Great Deal.

1911's are old souls, they understand. I had to get a counselor when I got my M+P, but it worked out nicely.

I keep an eye on a lot of the online gun sites, looking for deals, but I've never hear of SOG.  Can someone please inform me as to what the abreviation stands for so I can check it out?  Thanks.

I didn't know there were shrinks for 1911's that have been traumatized, dogs cats and old liberals I knew could find a therapist.  ;D

I have a 9 year old. I started him shooting at 7. He now favors his custom Hi-Point 995 carbine and .22 pistol. He is a crack shot on the 9mm carbine.

It is an awesome feeling being out there with your son and passing on the wisdom of firearms you have learned to them.  :)
