Museum Ships Weekend -- 2019

OK guys....we're bearing down on Museum Ships Weekend ham radio event again.  Less than 2 weeks from today.   It starts at 0000Z June 1, 2019 and ends at 2359Z June 2, 2019.  They have 106 ships signed up right now and will certainly add a few more between now and then.

Pegleg....are you going to be on the beach again this year?  Pathfinder...don't use I'm still moving into a new house for an excuse.  And Alf....oh Alf...where the heck are you?  Les...I know you used to listen in for a living but you may want to peruse the bands on a shortwave just to hear some guys on the USS Missouri or one of the other ships.  I visited the Missouri back in March and got to go into the radio room and peruse the big discone antenna....pretty cool.

OK, here's the deal. I would love to try, have stealth antennas in the works, but yeah, I DID just move into a new house, we're surrounded by cardboard boxes, I just got my 2-meter unpacked, and I have to find my Chameleon MPAS to have any hope of getting on the air.

My best hope is a temporary random wire NVIS to hit some of the eastern seaboard ships. That configuration seemed to work well in KY, we'll see what the flat land around Savannah holds for NVIS.

On the good news front, I do have a full attic without foil-faced sheathing in which to set up a dipole. Just need time and a period when it's not 130 degrees up there to set it up.
