After nearly 40 years in the northeast I finally got a chance to board her!

It felt great to finally see our oldest commissioned warship.  There are only active duty Navy and Marines assigned there.  Pretty good duty for a sailor or marine.

Short people manned this vessel!

I'm just over 6'1" and had to duck on the lower gun deck and basically hunch over on the crew berth deck!

I was able to explain to my BIL why the s@#thouse in the bow was called a head.  There were four crappers on each side!  Haha...

I find Boston rather creepy...

Really outstanding pictures.  I had no idea the structure was so well built.  No wonder it is called "Ironsides".
