« on: January 24, 2020, 10:14:14 PM »
Kel-Tec announced that the P11 was discontinued. At least it got a proper send-off... more or less.

Any idea what will replace it?

None at all. I'm sure they'll have something to announce soon.

I didn't know Kel-Tec made a compact .22 LR. I knew about the big one with the 33 round quad-stack magazine, but not the P17. It's 16+1 rounds and comes with 2 extra mags. Fully loaded, that's only 1 round shy of a whole box of .22 ammo. The barrel is threaded 1/2"-28 and the MSRP is $199. Too bad it looks like a piece of junk IMO.

I had a KelTec P3AT .380 it was a serviceable pistol. Inexpensive, reliable and accurate for it's intended purpose. For under $200 I would buy a P-17 if it was available in this state(NYsafe act non compliant).

FUNNY video. I have one in my pocket right now. I carry it as a backup. Sad to see it go!

The P-11 sure had a good run. It lasted a lot longer than Kelgren's Grendel P10 .380. [Edit: It was his first polymer-frame pistol.] That was top loaded by way of M16/AR15 stripper clips. When someone told me that's how he has to load it I just looked at him and said what??? ??? It was about the size of more modern .380 pistols, but with a 10-round magazine capacity. And you couldn't possibly lose your magazine no matter what a klutz you are, unless you lost the whole gun. That only lasted 3 years before he came out with the P12 with a 9-round detachable box magazine.

My take on the situation is this: He must have something to replace the P-11. We just haven't heard about it. There HAS to be another 9mm taking its place. Or a different version of the PF9, like a cheap one and a more expensive one to choose from. Something. No one is satisfied only making one model of 9mm. Ask Glock.

If I have a Viking funeral I hope it goes better than that. :o
