Aaron Tippin's new song:

http://www.americansolutions.com/General/?Page=5211e44c-32fd-40a8-919f-1449531d61da

Forwarded to me by a friend:

Dear xxxxxxx,

I just finished up a radio interview with Sean Hannity and I wanted to share with you some exciting news. I was on Sean's show to debut country music star Aaron Tippin's new single entitled "Drill Here, Drill Now." The song was inspired by our "Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less" movement and masterfully captures the pulse of Americans who are tired of paying too much for gas while Congress does nothing about it. You can listen to the interview here.

As a country music fan, I've always known Aaron as an outspoken artist who takes a stand for hardworking Americans. And when I first heard his song, I knew it would become the rallying cry for more American-made energy. Just read the opening lines of the song and you'll see why:

Hello.....Is anybody out there listenin' in Washington D.C.
This is the suffering voice of America crying out for relief
Now I don't know what a gallon of gas costs up on Capitol Hill
But we sure know what it costs down here in Realityville

If you're anything like me, once you hear this song you'll immediately want to forward it to your friends and family so they can hear it too.

Can you help us make this song a huge hit by downloading it today and asking your local radio stations to play it?

You can download or preview the song at www.AmericanSolutions.com/DrillSong.
A powerful collision between pop culture and politics, this terrific song is sure to take America 's airwaves - and Capitol Hill - by storm.

Thank you for everything you do.

Your friend,

Newt Gingrich

P.S. In light of President Bush's July announcement to eliminate the executive ban on offshore drilling, the U.S. Minerals Management Service has decided to initiate a new plan to increase energy production on the outer continental shelf (OCS).  As part of the regulatory process, the agency is calling for public comments on offshore oil and gas development through September 15, 2008.

In the meantime, unfortunately, Congress is planning votes on bills that would actually make all or part of the offshore drilling ban permanent. Take immediate action by clicking here and letting your voice be heard in favor expanding American offshore energy production.

Newt Gingrich new book "Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less" is also just released, very informative info on newt.org also.

Its the latest rage by politicians here in NC, Gov's. race has one "for" drilling off NC coast, the other opposes, but her spouse owns stake in several Gulf of Mexico oil rigs. Typical BS. but we do need to drill in our own country and territory mui pronto!

One hurricane, as bad as it was, (Ike) should not cause spikes in domestic gas prices across the country. Especially when crude oil prices continue to fall. Below $100.00 a barrel today.

Now "gouging" investigations are underway in several states. If we had more refineries as well, these things wouldn't be so "sensitive".

We are fighting an entrenched resistance against utilizing our own resources including shale deposits in the midwest that if accessed, would stop foreign imports, including from that as*ho**, from Venezuela, Chavez.

All right, rant off. Fight the good fight.

Thanks.

That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

Just on speculation of what MIGHT happen with Ike, gas went up $1.10 over night here in my small town.
In other areas nearby, it went up even more.
Panic was rampant at the pumps, complete with traffic jams, and the next day none of the gas stations in the area had gas.
Now they are saying nothing under $4.00 for a WHILE.
GREED....it's what's for supper.

My best to those in the path of Ike.
You are all in my prayers.

just so you know..... during Katrina, yes that big bad killer, there were tankers off the coast of Louisianna discharging (that means offloading not spilling) to holding facilities onshore. sure, some refineries were damaged, but that's not enough to stop production remember, these aren't the only oil ports and production facilities in the states. greed....

I had heard that somewhere once before, shortly after the prices went up after Katrina.
Thanks for bringing it up as a good point. Many probably didn't know.

I'll post this here (instead of starting a new thread) since it pertains to drilling.

hell, Alaska isn't the only source, before I went merchant marine I was oil field trash (yup) for 5 years-ish. just the wells we drilled from the ship I was on were comparable to the alaska north slope oil field. that's a lot of oil!!!!! true that not all oil is the same. but it can be used and bring prices down. oh yeah, those wells? we capped them and moved on to drill more. some were in up to seven thousand feet of water so they too need some development. $$ did you know, 1 U.S. barrel is 42 gallons? after production, refining etc.. those 42 gallons are made into 45+ gallons! hell that's efficiency! that last bit I learned this last time I was at Haz's because I had to take a tankerman course for work. greed, greed, greed!
