Over on THR there was a thread with some of Jerry Miculek's videos. Specifically him shooting a .44mag, 6 shots in 1 second (1st to last). He was using an AR500 rectangular plate as a target and it knocked the plate and stand over.
So can I do that? One thing I've discovered is that some "tricks" aren't that hard if you just get up and try them.
NOW LET ME BE CLEAR. I'm NOWHERE near JMs level. Not even 50%. But, I have tried some of his feats and if nothing else they're an eye-opener to a different level and feel of shooting.
I can do 6 shot in 1 second (first to last). Nothing fancy, just a 4" 686, tuned a little (by me) and some .38spls running @128 power factor (124grain bullets). I still got it today.

Now for the .44mag. Running a 629-6 with minimal tuning. 14# rebound spring and removed the unessential pieces from the action. Haven't lightened strain screw at this point. It is only a 5" but it is MagNaPorted, which doesn't help with the recoil but lessons the muzzle rise. Shooting 240gr bullets at 965fps which works out to 231 Power Factor. Had done a few hundred dry fire, but I swear that actually shooting ammo enables you to shoot faster. Maybe the recoil helps bring your trigger finger off the trigger faster or something.
NO I DIDN'T make it. The best I got was 1.14 seconds. The target was shot at 7yds. I brought it forward so you could see the hits.
Again, I will never come close to JM, but I can swagger just a little because I tried.
