Return of the Archons has come true

It hit me today that we are not living in “1984” but in the Star Trek episode “Return of the Archons.”

NFL quarterback Drew Brees discovered for himself what happens when you dare to voice an opinion that differs from the herd. He said he didn’t agree with disrespecting the flag, and the herd immediately jumped all over him, yelling “You are not of the body! You are not of the body!” They started virtually stoning him.

He has since apologized and is now at one with Landru.

See how that works?

Peer pressure is a powerful thing.  Of course, if you've got a multi-million dollar salary and the guys you work with aren't happy with you I guess that's a powerful enticement too.  It's a shame he sold out....I hope he's kicking himself for going back on that.
