If you pick modern characters, check out their connections, and theirs, a lot of apparently unconnected things come together .
Things today are not happening in a bubble, it is influenced by the past.
For example, every one hates Soros.
The CPUSA General Secretary, and perpetual candidate was named Earl Browder ( google him, don't distract me. ) 
Know what his Grandson does ?

I ran across a comment this AM, ( have not had time to fact check it. ) that old Karl lived with his mother and  said she should hurry up and die so he could use her money.
I also ran across the FULL quote about "religion is the opium of the masses, Humanities sigh of despair, the heart of a cruel world.
So Marx actually DID NOT promote atheism, that falls strictly on Lenin.

Reminded me of a book series back in the 80's "Casca" the eternal soldier.  He was the Roman that stuck Jesus to see if he was dead yet, condemned to fight till Jesus gets back to deal with him .
Reminded me of the soldier who gave Jesus vinegar.
Why would he just happen to have it handy on guard duty ?
He WAS NOT being a dick.
It's what the troops themselves drank when they were thirsty.
