Possible move to Baltimore. Maryland from Idaho - Question.
« on: September 18, 2008, 02:37:56 PM »
Help me - if I recall Maryland is not a gun friendly place.
I have the typical WWII firearms collection (3 rifles 2 pistols) 2 home defense shotguns and 6 personal pistols from home only duty to J frame revolver.

Do they have a concealed carry permit in Maryland?

While the increase in the paycheck would be welcome, losing my rights as a gun owner that truly believes in personal defense won’t be worth the intrusion.

Thanks folks.

They are a may issue state. Very restrictive on CCW.
Anti: I think some of you gentleman would choose to apply a gun shaped remedy to any problem or potential problem that presented itself? Your reverance (sic) for firearms is maintained with an almost religious zeal. The mind boggles! it really does...

Me: Naw, we just apply a gun-shaped remedy to those extreme life threatening situations that call for it. All the less urgent problems we're willing to discuss.

The only thing I liked about my short stay in Maryland was the U.S. Army Ordnance Museum at APG. Every gun nut should make a pilgrimage once in their life. http://ordmusfound.org/index.htm

Did you ever wonder why no one ever says,"Go East young man"? I can't think of many reasons to.

:'(I'm down south in MD and can say that if Baltimore became part of another state MD would quickly become gun-friendly.  Until that happens not so much.  As was stated earlier, there is a thread about my CCW permit attempt here.  It will die a slow death up the road with MSP  since I don't have the money to continue.  You have to have a "god and substatnial reason" for a permit here that typically means business owners with lots of cash and/or threats.

:)There are a few really good ranges in the state and purchases aren't to bad.  The only major restriction is a pistol or "assault weapon" are considered "restricted purchase" and have a 7 day waiting period and magazine capacities are limited to 20.  Our range here has IDPA matches twice a month and 3-gun, hi-power, and other matches monthly.

PM me for more specifics

in my line of work it's hard to get a job without going union, unfortunately. I was lucky enough to avoid unions until now, and if I had better offers, I would jump on it.  :P

You can never have too many guns, or too much ammo
