I am not joking.  Many do things like requiring materials that have so much net energy  loss its not even funny.   Or are products that are extremely hard to handle after at end of life.  They are also extremely  expensive to get rid of, so people just throw them in the trash which causes significant  heavy metal( mercury being the worst of them) contamination.  Or they require you to inundate things in such a way that you spend more energy  heatkng/ coming your home.  Unless you live in a mild climate.  If you live some place hot or cold you are screwed.    I even testified  in 3 title 24 cycles against changes they proposed,  they did not listen, even after several local media stations interviewed  me after the hiring.  It did not matter.  The last one I did 4 experts from big name universities  back me up, but thier " green" expert that had a degree in environmental  science  is who they went with... heaven  forbid they listen to the top thermodynamics  professor at the top uc...
