AR Lowers: Good and bad?

I have a gun built on a DPMS lower and it's pretty good. I also like Spike's Tactical lowers — where else can you get an engraved Punisher logo in pink? I'm going to be building up an AR pistol (yes, I know...) or maybe an SBR if I have the spare $200 bucks on a Spike's lower.
