Hurry up! I don't have another 20 years to wait. ;)

You're still gonna have a while because even once the hammer arrives, today or tomorrow, before I can even FIRE full-power SMC I have to either rack up gym hours building up my left arm or have a bodybuilder's transplanted on.

The hardest parts are waiting for runs of ammo, waiting for budget... and with Turd Ferguson's gun-grabbery there are very few smiths left around Puget Sound. I won't fire even ACP until I've had a pro check my work over.

Update: Harrison ignition partially in and tested... somehow misplaced my trigger and hammer strut pin though, those have to wait til I can collect from a nonpaying client.

Admittedly without a trigger or mainspring connection, the lockup on both the full- and half-cock notches feels very firm (I'm using the True Radius hammer and sear) - frankly, without a trigger I have to get creative figuring out how to reach in and flip the sear. Thumb safety needs some filing on the sear lug to be able to install.

So far stops on the Big Range Roadtrip once it's done and my household is in a state where I can travel include...

SOUTH TOUR
Berryville, AR - Wilson Combat
Kennesaw, GA - Harrison Custom
Venice, FL - Fusion Firearms

NORTH TOUR
Quakertown, PA - EGW
Wolcott, VT - Caspian Arms
and a possible stop at Springfield if Illinois gets CCW sanity either adopted or imposed to get off my No Go List

Current pic...

To do:
1. Find bit, drill and install ejector pin.
2. Find or replace and install trigger.
3. Pin mainspring housing.
4. Install sights.
Then we're ready for ACP test fire... a friend who used to do competitive bodybuilding (he's the manager at my Arby's lunch stop Fridays) thinks from start it'll be two years before I'm ready to start cracking off SMC, even with Athena's heavier slide, greater forward weight and beefier springs to mitigate her wrathful recoil.

Good news: Found trigger. Annoying news: RIGHT after replacement shipped. Bad news: Have to put the Big Bitch back into storage until my broken weak-side collarbone heals. So, as long as I had to slap a coating on to fight corrosion in the humid PNW air anyway, I figured why not give a 'rough concept' of the intended finish?

That's really going to look nice when it's finished.

I took the grip tape off my full-size Para-Ordnance and cleaned the frame off really well. But the rest of it's not very clean. I took of one of the Strike Industries Bang Band Minis off the grip after I took the pics. It still has the bottom one on it. I've often thought about getting a 1911 in another caliber like .460 Rowland or .450 SMC, but I don't have much use for them since I don't hunt anymore.

Frank, if that Para can eat +P regularly, it can eat SMC if the guys who developed it are to be believed. I've just been overbuilding to .45 Super spec just to be cautious.
