Rock Island Armory Basic 1911 Cleaning. I see a few things wrong in this video. And one thing right that some people may not do, lubing the disconnector track on the slide. I think he went too heavy on the oil on the barrel hood, but that wasn't what I thought was wrong. What do you think he got wrong?

He didn't lube the slide lock/safety plungers and springs also should have detailed stripped the grip frame to clean and lube the trigger and hammer assembles along with the associated springs, struts etc.

How do you like that Bluetooth-enabled cordless air compressor? ;D  He was stroking the bore brush back and forth inside the barrel instead of running it all the way through on each stroke. That's a definite no-no. If the the brush fit properly instead of being undersized it would have jammed in the barrel. Half of the comments on YouTube were new owners thanking him for showing them the proper way to clean their guns. The other half were more experienced shooters talking about all the things he did wrong.

I watched it for entertainment value since you can't learn how to do things the right way by watching it. It's funny how many things he did wrong and other people on YouTube let him know all about it. Please don't do to your 1911 what the "professional" in the video did.

My younger brother peed on an electric fence once. He said he didn't see it because the grass was so long. It was a shocking experience. The same brother also spit on an electric fence and a string of spit grounded the end of his tongue to the wire. That was LOL funny.
