Looking good so far. If you don't have molybdenum disulfide grease you should get some for your barrel. AeroShell Grease 64 (Formerly 33Ms) is MilSpec MIL-G-21164D and a 14 ounce tube should be enough for dozens of builds. It takes so little to do a barrel nut and upper reciever, a receiver extension (buffer tube) and lower, and flash hider, that I've been greasing the ball on my trailer hitch with leftover grease for 20 years. Moly is a lot better than lithium grease under pressure and heat. It's $22.84 at Graco Roberts and may be cheaper somewhere else. I only looked 3 places. It was almost 31 bucks on Amazon. I used a different brand I bought at a local bearing supply or spring and suspension shop. It met military specification MIL-G-21164. GREASE, MOLYBDENUM DISULFIDE (81349). NSN 9150-00-754-2595. It was so long ago I don't remember who made it but it may have been Dow Corning. I emptied the tube and what I have left is in a small bowl I dip onto the trailer ball.

Diester liquid lubricant, gelling agent and molybdenum disulfide. High temperature and low evaporation and oxidation resistant and wear resistant. Effective Temperature Range Rating: -100.0/+250.0 degrees Fahrenheit. Minimum Dropping Point: 329.0 degrees Fahrenheit.

Good job. I should have known you'd do it right. Unlike one manufacturer who squirts a little oil on the threads and screws the barrel in. And they only torque it once instead of 3 times. The aluminum threads on a new upper will stretch out when you torque it down. If you only torque it once like those guys the nut can loosen up without ever moving.

LOL. The Umbrella Corporation. Did it come from Raccoon City? I've seen those small containers of Aeroshell for sale several places but would never buy one. You can get 30x as much for 2x the $$, more or less. Those guys are just taking it out of a bucket, putting a little dab in a small container and marking up the price 15,000% or whatever it comes out to. There's nothing wrong with making a profit, but that's an unreasonable profit.

I know it's way overpriced but realistically it's lasted through six guns so far and I'm still not even halfway. I like a full size can or a full size tube it actually fits on my gunsmith toolbox

I hear ya. I put my grease that was in a 14.1 ounce tube for a grease gun into a 16 ounce margarine bowl. It's probably less than 3" around and 3" tall. It doesn't take up much room on my workbench. I have 2 toolboxes on my bench with the trays from the top of the boxes lying next to them, but not a toolbox just for gunsmithing stuff. I don't keep any chemicals in either box, just tools, wrenches and pliers in the bottom of one box, and screwdrivers and chisels and such in the bottom of the other box. The trays in  both of them are full of other stuff, mostly a bunch of Allen wrenches in the wrench box, and files and punches in the screwdriver box. I keep a lot of stuff on the shelf halfway between the top of the bench and the floor, and more stuff on top. Stuff like my barrel wrench and torque wrench are always on the shelf when I'm not using them. I can't fit all the gunsmithing specific stuff in my 2 toolboxes and don't want a third box taking up room. If I had a garage to work in, maybe I would because I'd have more room for everything.

see my gun smith tool box is a plastic bin that i have had for 25-30 years.  it is a little bigger than 2 big shoe boxes side by side.   i know i need to get more, but reality is I am just getting ready to move to a different state again, so i really dont want to gather too much stuff.

A rolling TAB gathers no moss. Other than my time in the army I've lived in the same city my whole life. I lived in a national or state forest, or a cabin in the woods a lot of weekends and vacations, but have only moved from the east side of the city to the west side. The good thing about that was no U-Haul or anything. Just a van-load of stuff at a time, as many trips as it took.

The worst move I ever had was across  the street.    It was packed a box or 2, carry/ roll them across  the street, un pack repeat.
