I started watching Sinners (2025), 7.5/10 stars, on Prime. One minute in the narrator is talking about people known as "griots". But she pronounced griot as gree-ott, not gree-oh. I know Hollywood gets a lot of things wrong, but it's only a minute in they're already losing my interest. I don't know what it says if an idiot like me can get this right, but none of the dozens hundreds of people involved in making a $100 million movie can correct such a glaring mistake, which is the premise the whole movie is based on. I'll still watch it, but may groan and moan my way through. I wonder if there's a movie about the Salem watch trials? ::)

Did you know there's an America's Black Holocaust Museum? Did Hitler have a hand in exterminating millions of Black Americans that I never heard about? Public schools are pretty bad, but it still sounds like something I would have heard of at some point in my life if the Black Holocaust was real.

Beyond Paradise released a Christmas special.  Yes, it’s a little Christmasy but well done.  I guessed the surprised character, to the amazement of Miss Kitty.

I’ve conjectured it would be a nice cross-show plot to have DS Williams from Beyond Paradise, get promoted and transferred to St, Marie as the Inspector for Death in Paradise.  Let’s just say they writers have taken a small step in that direction.

I saw Predator: Badlands a couple of days ago. Predators always like to use a barrel shroud when they hunt. You know, that shoulder thing that goes up. ::)

Yesterday I watched the latest episode of Fallout, then some other stuff on Amazon. I saw an episode of the Upload series last night. I guess I only watched the first 2 episodes before, and it ran for 4 seasons, so I have some catching up to do. I never finished watching The Expanse or Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, either.

Nice little British cyber attack serial movie(6 episodes) is NightSleeper, about an express British train, sort of a red-eye, that traverses the length of the isle overnight.  The two leads were great.

Season 3 of Jack Ryan. Season 4, the final season, just started. Four seasons in 8 years. Plus I've been watching The Ray Bradbury Theater (1985–1992), among other things.

Possum at 200 yards through an ATN thermal scope...strangely the glow is fading to background.

I've been told that possums are really good critters to have around. They eat bugs and other things that can destroy gardens. And they don't carry many diseases, like rabies, or anything else that can make other animals a serious problem. I think they're uglier than rats, but my friend's wife thinks they're adorable. Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder.

They carry EPM which kills horses.  We have lost one to EPM and have another being treated...which takes about 4 weeks if successful and generally without complete recovery.  Usually you treat with two meds...6-8 weeks.  Maybe 2 out of 10 recover fully.  We're in week 2 of a 6 week regimen and possum is high on the target list these days.

Wow! I never heard of EPM before. I did a quick search and it said other hosts of this parasite, Sarcocystis neurona, include Armadillos, Skunks, and Domestic Cats. If I lived somewhere I could legally shoot, I'd kill every cat I saw. This is just one more good reason to exterminate those vermin. The last time I checked, there was no closed season, and no bag limit, for feral cats in Michigan, and I have a license to kill. Cats are all feral if they're outdoors. I like skunks and was glad to have them eating all the June bug grubs in my back yard, but if I had horses, I'd get rid of the skunks too. If my lawn filled up with "cocktail shrimp" because no skunks were eating them, I'd have to start using pesticide, but that's better than having horses die from EPM.

I just finished Tron: Ares a little while ago. The original Tron came out in 1982 when I was stationed in Germany. The sequel, Tron: Legacy came out in 2010, years after I retired, and Tron: Ares came out in 2025. That's 43 years between the first one and last one, a long time for 3 movies. it was 28 years between the first 2, and another 15 years before the 3rd one.
