Pi Day 3.14
« on: March 12, 2025, 12:57:58 PM »
Friday is 3.14, Pi Day. Just in time to celebrate the occasion, USPS is supposed to deliver my Pizza Pi Coin Friday. Shire Post Mint combined the front of their Supreme Pizza Coin in Copper with the back of their Pi 3.14 Coin in Copper, and came up with a Pizza Pi Coin. The Supreme Pizza Coin normally has a plain back, and their Pi 3.14 Coin has a large letter Pi on the front. I don't know how many decimal points Pi is carried out to on the back, but it would take you a while to count them. They also make a Burnt Supreme Pizza Coin, Pizzas of Eight Breakable Supreme Pizza Silver and Copper Coins, and a Pizza Moon Supreme Pizza Lunar Coin in Copper. That one looks like the Pizzas of Eight on the front, and the back is a selenographically (not geographically) correct map of the moon at about a 90,000,000:1 scale. All of the Pizza coins come with 2 custom made Tiny Pizza Boxes.

P.S. Pizzas of Right are $35, so "two bits" would be worth $8.75, not $.25. :)

On March 14th, Burger King is bringing the “Pi” to Pi Day with a FREE Hershey’s Pie when you spend $3.14 or more. For Rewards Members.

Lots of pizza places and some other restaurants will have $3.14 pizzas and other deals.

I didn't get my Pizza Pi coin yet, but I got 8 boxes of Cor-Bon ammo. Cor-Bon was founded in Detroit, Michigan, when Peter Pi Sr. started making handgun ammo in 1982. Actually one of the suburbs, maybe Redford Twp, but I don't remember for sure. IIRC, some of the first sales were to officers of the Detroit Police Dept who wanted ammo that did what it was supposed to. There's an online ammo site that thinks they're educating people about ammo that says Cor-Bon was started in Sturgis, SD. But that's just was where the company moved to, before it was sold and moved to Ohio, where it was sold again. Defiant Munitions, owned and operated Pete Pi Jr., is in Sturgis SD.
