Seen in passing... and I sprayed my coffee on my keyboard
« on: September 29, 2008, 07:13:58 AM »
This morning I saw an online article in my local newspaper about a cat being hit with an arrow. This is not the funny part, this is just not right. The funny part came about two minutes later.

Quote
A woman's pet cat was severely injured after someone shot it with an arrow last Thursday in a stunning case of animal cruelty, according to police.

The cat was in the area of Dotter's Corner Road in Polk Township when state police at Lehighton believe someone used either a traditional bow, compound bow or a cross bow to fire one arrow into the cat's right hind leg between 10 and 10:35 p.m.

The funny part came about two minutes later. I lost my coffee as I was glancing through the reader's comments:

Quote
Could of been an accident, I almost shot a lieutenant with a tank by mistake at Fort Lewis Washington.

Anti: I think some of you gentleman would choose to apply a gun shaped remedy to any problem or potential problem that presented itself? Your reverance (sic) for firearms is maintained with an almost religious zeal. The mind boggles! it really does...

Me: Naw, we just apply a gun-shaped remedy to those extreme life threatening situations that call for it. All the less urgent problems we're willing to discuss.

Yeah, it was probably some kind of bow that fired the arrow. Great detective work Chief Wiggum.  ::)

Glad it wasn't one of Haz's cats,.....

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.
