CHRIST IS RISEN!

Indeed.  He is risen!

Went to an Easter Vigil last night at a local Episcopal church.  Our #2 grand was being baptized.  Though Miss Kitty was raised Episcopal she had never heard of this service. (Since we been married we've been BaptoMethoPres so it's rare to go back to the Episcopal church.)  It was interesting.  The ceremony starts outside with a fire and the new Paschal candle is consecrated and lit.  Then everyone processes inside, where a liturgy takes place and includes readings from Genesis through the New Testament.   It was a small service <50 people. Nice not to be blasted by rock music of the modern church and enjoy traditional hymns for a change.

Because my wife and spent almost 30years of participating (dare I use the words, performing or producing) in Easter services we tend to avoid the church on this day.

I did get a chance to chat with Jeopardy champion Raymond Goslow.  Really liked him on the program and he's  very nice and personable in person as well.

I missed Maundy Thursday this year, but made Good Friday, Easter Vigil, and then this morning for Easter. My favorite is the Easter Vigil.

The procession in the dark and lighting our own candles from the new Pascal candle, listening to the readings with the lights continually rising with each step. The thought of the fear Jesus' followers were experiencing as they gathered in the dark and uncertainty and not knowing if the next footsteps passing by would stop to drag them away.

The most moving was the redressing of the alter and the changing of the vestments from Lenten purple to Resurrection white and participating in communion.

Not an Easter egg, but a Kinder egg. Surprise! At least the rabbit didn't die. :D I didn't think I kept this, but here it is. I found it while looking for something else, which I still haven't found.

When everyone was wearing masks because of COVID-19, a couple of people made Alien Facehugger masks, and I think they started selling them.
