Would it be wrong to offer Path Finder a compass and map for a birthday present, or should I stick to the standard old folk's Wanderguard?

Thanks for the Birthday wishes, everyone, and sorry for the delay. After 5 years doing the c-bomb dodge, the little buggers got me and I was down for 3 weeks or so. it ended at the end of July, and I spent most of August catching up with everything.
