It seems quite odd that the range it lased "doubled" because of the aluminum tape.

Yes it is strange.  It's actually aluminum flue tape for sealing flue joints on my wood stove.  And...with the 26" barrel I'm 3,675 FPSish...0 at 100 yards, 0.8" at 200 yards...it makes me giddy just to say that.  Still clicking at 2,900 FPS at 200 yards...who's yer daddy?

I'm waiting for the wild dog pack to show up tonight....the neighbor a mile down the road has 12-15 of them he lets out at night which run all the game off my property, attacked a hunter on my property and attacked my dogs in the back yard.  Growled at me and ran before I could do anything about it.

That rifle shoots almost as flat as the laser beam. Impressive. I love dogs, but when they run wild they should be hunted down just like feral cats. The owner should be too, but the law frowns upon that. There's no daily or yearly limit on feral cats, and no closed season in Michigan, or wasn't the last time I checked, but I don't know about dogs.

I think I would fry up some bacon, chop it up, and mix the bacon and grease with peanut butter, and paste it onto a board (or something) lying on the ground. The smell of bacon will carry for a long way, and I haven't seen a dog yet that can resist peanut butter. They'll stay there and lick it it clean, or for the rest of their lives, whichever comes first.
