California is garbage
« on: August 21, 2025, 07:33:51 PM »
It’s been a while but kimi and I are still alive. No thanks to California’s ridiculous laws we both could have killed. We took a trip to San Jose to visit the Winchester mansion. Both of us are into the paranormal and I’m a gun nerd so our trip made a boatload of sense. Night one was uneventful except for the rough part of town you cross to catch the freeway. We went the local bass pro and had lunch. As we made are way back to hotel all hell breaks loose. Car pulls out in front of us and second blocks us in. Three shit heads run out and carjack us. They grabbed Kimi first and came for me second, I didn’t see the gun until I got pistol whipped to the face. I could only think of her safety and made my way to her as they took off. I lost a couple of teeth and needed a couple of stitches. Kimi was scared out of her mind and in full panic mode. To make this story short cops basically did nothing after the fact and the case is still open. Im more angry that someone puts hands on my wife and traumatized her. I can tell she’s super nervous when we drive somewhere and won’t go anywhere by herself.

That sucks. I always have my doors locked, they're programmed to lock when I shift into gear if I forget, and I'm prepared to ram anyone who gets in my way. Especially if it's a car behind me that won't cause damage to my radiator, engine, or headlights. And if I ever rent a car, I'll be sure to take out insurance on it, because you never know what might happen.

That is terrible.  I hope she gets over it and that you can get that tooth thing fixed quick...maybe the dentist will have a little compassion and not charge you out the a$$.

Did they run out of the front car or back car?  Unless I am in a micro car I'm going to plow my way out of it...might get shot....might not.  I'd rather take my chances to avoid getting injured but with the possibility of getting shot as opposed to what happened to you.

I figure it happened so fast that you didn't have time to think.  Unless you have grown up around hoodlums and thugs it's hard to recognize and believe that it's something that is happening to you.

I was 14 when I had a gun pulled on me.  After that I changed a lot...I guess I hardened up from then on out.

But for the life of me I still don't know how they got those 50 cal rounds in that little 38 revolver...them things was huge in that cylinder.  Bigger than the whole barrel!

When my older brother was assistant manager at a Pizza Hut someone stuck a sawed off shotgun in his face as he was leaving and said give me the money. He didn't argue, and said the barrels looked "this big" holding both hands up, indicating they looked way bigger than the bore of a punt gun. The only time I remember having a gun in my face was my ex with a .22 LR at the range. She turned around and pointed a loaded gun right in my face. You can guess where her booger hook was.

To be honest my guard was down and just having a great time with my wife. My F sport was not recovered and the cops seemed unbothered like this happens all the time. My face busted up and my wife pleading for an ambulance the one cop I guess took pity on me. I don’t care about what happened to me or having lost the car. It’s seeing my kimi so traumatized. Shes from chiba Japan a place you can literally leave your front door open and your car running and nothing would happen. To see the pain in her eyes breaks me. Her mom is on her way to come visit and stay for a couple of and take her home to relax and find some peace of mind.

I am so sorry for you and your wife. It is a BAD way to be introduced to the increased violent crime, enhanced by the free flow of illegal immigrants across the southern border in California, thanks to Newsom.

How the people of California can be so stupid as to allow this to continue is beyond my comprehension.

I hope her time home helps her recover and relax, but with what she went through it will take time.

I'm sorry this happened to the two of you and equally upset about the lack of legal support. However, I'm very thankful that you both survived well enough to get the help you need to heal - Physically and emotionally.

On a side but related note, my new job has me thinking about what we drive for our personal vehicles. Right now, we have two Chevys - An Equinox and a Traverse. Neither very heavy or solid.  At work, among safety standards and the many hours of training, there are two things I keep in mind: 1. Nothing I'm carrying is worth dying for, so hand it over, be helpful to the scum, and be a good witness; and 2. That vehicle is very heavy and solid - Roadblocks are a reason to use the right foot with authority.

I had a bad experience in San Jose. Lots of drug trafficking goes on around that area. I’ll never go back
