My parts are here and the machining on them is beautiful. The firing pin is a work of art compared the factory stamped out sheet metal part. I'm also planning on replacing the firing pin and extractor in my 22/45 and 10/22, now that I see how good these parts are.

I just got around to rebuilding the Mark II bolt today, and will finish reassembling the rest of the pistol some other time. Here's my old firing pin retaining pin. You can see that it's bent, but it looked worse to me IRL when I first took it apart. It also has a bad burr on it about a quarter of the way in from one end. I don't know if a round blew up and forced the firing pin back into it, or what happened. I don't remember any blow-ups, but may have shot a Ramset power load in the gun. Other than this pin being bent, and most of the extractor being gone, the bolt looked pretty good. But I replaced every part except the bolt body. The new recoil spring seems stronger than the old one, which may have been an original part. Besides being more well made, the firing pin seems to be thicker than stock but that didn't make it stick or anything like that.

I finally got my Mark II put back together a few hours ago. The bolt was done about 2 weeks ago but wasn't in any hurry to go through the frustration of reassembling the rest of the gun. It took hours to get it together and I wouldn't have been able to do it at all without the help of some good videos and pictures. The safety spring has a little detent that I dropped so many times I lost count. And that little bugger can be hard to find, even with a good flashlight and a magnet. Even if you had normal dexterity and feeling in both hands, which I don't, it would still be a pain in the butt. I'm NEVER taking one of these things down that far again without a very good reason. I think I put the sear and spring in about a dozen times. Even when I was sure they were facing the right way, I didn't have the spring on the right part of the sear and the frame most of the time. But it's all back together and passed a manual function check. The receiver to grip frame fit is kind of loose, so I'll have to tighten that a up a bit, but it's good enough for now.

I highly recommend the MK-II Extended Magazine Release, made by Ranch Products. This combined with extended base pads lets seat the mags easier, and release them a lot easier. There are a lot of things about the Mark II that can be improved to one degree or another, and this gives you more bang for the buck than most of them.

I took every one of these parts out except for one or two pins in the frame. One above the mag release, and I think one more below the sear. But, never again. I even took the setscrew out of the back of the trigger that isn't shown in this picture. When I put the bolt stop pin back on the mainspring assembly, I staked both ends of the pin with a center punch so it would stay in. I wouldn't have taken it out at all if it didn't come out with just a little poke. My new guide rod comes apart so it can take a couple different weights of springs.

The receiver of my Mark II fit the grip frame so loosely it moved around and it even rattled. I didn't think that would be conducive to good accuracy. But, after beating on a certain area with the ball of my 8 ounce ball-peen hammer several times, it has NO play whatsoever. I actually got it so tight I had to whack it with the rubber grip of my claw hammer to get it back together. I normally used my plastic mallet for this on the other pistol when it was new, but the claw hammer was a few inches closer. ;D  I'll have to hammer it apart and back together with the mallet several times before it fits just right, but it's good for now. It really needs a cold blue job, but it takes a bit of time to do it right, and I have other things to do. Besides, I'm out of steel wool and can't do it.
