Today I got an order from Midwest Industries that included what I'm calling my FAFO case. "What's in the case?", people may ask. To which I may reply, "
Fiddle Around and Find Out."
It's the Fiddle Master 30" Case made by Savior Equipment, and was 35 bucks cheaper at Midwest than Savior. They also have the Ultimate Guitar 45" Case 70 bucks cheaper than Savior. I didn't compare prices on the "tennis racquet" cases or any of the others. Savior has pistol cases that look more like first aid kits to me, especially the Hunter Orange one. And they have 2 strips of Velcro loop where you can slap on any kind of patch you want. I think a red and white cross would help make a very convincing disguise.
I didn't get a wild hare up my butt. They aren't even in season.

Maybe a wild hair, though. I did have a strange idea a few days ago. I took the tactical light mount off my 16" AR and put it on the Colt with a 12.7" barrel, then put the short "vertical" grip on it horizontally. If I lengthen one of my sling's adjustments and sling it across my chest I think it will be fun to hip shoot with the stock folded. I can't shoot a Minigun like Ahnold, or Jesse "The Body" Ventura, etc., but I can handle this. Too bad it doesn't have a fun switch on it. When I went to Midwest's site and saw the violin case I knew I had to have it. So I took some measurements and figured a way to stick the rifle in. It will also fit my 10/22 and VRF14, but nothing with a fixed or collapsible stock. My Can Cannon will fit, even with the X-Fore barrel mounted, but my 20" upper barely fits because of the long muzzle device. It would make a good case for a bullpup rifle or shotgun. It only took UPS 2 days to get it here. It has 2 Velcro straps you can put anywhere you want, and they can be cut to length. I left them long.
The case came with a sheet of stickers to help personalize it. When I saw the one that says, "Obey Thoven" I didn't know what the h*** it meant. It looks like something Big Brother would have pasted to a wall in 1984. When I finally did figure it out I said to myself, "Oh! Beethoven. Now I get it." I have a LOT of stickers I can slap on mine. If Mossberg can put a chainsaw grip on a
pump shotgun (Seriously, Mossberg. WTF?), I can put this together and not think it's too goofy or ridiculous. If I flip the stock open and hold it normally, the horizontal grip can be braced against a door jamb, window, or tree. BTW, someone put a chainsaw grip on a "not a shotgun" like mine. It looks fun but may be 1'2" too wide to fit in the violin case.
