Shooting Can Cause Brain Injury

NYTIMES has just published an article on brain injuries cause by shooting.  I don't think it was intended to be an anti-gun piece, just an expansion of the interest in brain injuries in general. 

They were concentrating on indoor ranges and reference some military information as well as their own research.  They provide the pressure levels, PSI, they've measured with different guns and calibers.  Also the multiplier affect shooting indoors where the shock waves bounce off the adjacent walls.   

In the conclusion they discuss ways to mitigate damage.  Shooting outdoors easily cuts exposure by half.  Longer barrels so the blast is further away.  (I like my linear comp for the very reason it directs the shock wave away from the shooter.)  Less powerful calibers are a plus. I'm disappointed they didn't study .22lr.  AND..   WAIT FOR IT...    SILENCERS ARE A BIG PLUS.  So not only are silencers a help for hearing protection but they reduce the possibility of brain injury!!!   We need to take them totally off NFA and negate all state regulations.

Bernie Sanders is stumping for “basic rights” like food and housing and wants the government to step in provide them when needed.  Hmmm, so those aren’t specifically mentioned in the constitution, but keeping and bearing arms are.  So by his logic shouldn’t the government give guns and ammo to those who can’t afford it?
