We had a guy in North Dakota build one out of 2 Ruger 10/22 actions and barrels. Perfectly legal, one trigger pull-one bullet downrange. Of course the 5.56 is a mite more powerful than a .22LR

The fun part was watching the ATF guys at their table in the corner of the gun show come over and check it out, then just walk away.
