I bought a Blue Reef Scuba Titanium Folding Knife, I guess it was 2 or 3 years ago. I got a black-handled one, but the blade was the lighter gray color of the blue one in the first pic. It comes in bright yellow and a couple of other colors too.

This Blue Reef Folding Knife is made of titanium; no-rust, no-magnetism, and no-maintenance! The folded 4.5" (11.4cm) knife fits conveniently into your pocket and opens into a full length 8" (20.3cm) knife. The 3.5" (8.9cm) blade with its sharp drop point tip, partial serrated edge, and a line cutter for everyday use has a spring-loaded lock for safety. Knife comes equipped with a convenient slide locking lanyard for added-security to clip to your BCD or harness.

But it wasn't very sharp, and the line cutter was so dull it wouldn't even cut a piece of dental floss. I feel sorry for a diver who gets caught up in lines or nets and needs to use one of these to cut themselves free. I found out there was another problem with it for everyday kinds of things I use a knife for. When I stabbed the knife into a plastic bottle it didn't want to come back out. It was caught like the barb on a fish hook, and I had to saw my way out. So I ground a large piece out of the blade and it looked about like the second pic that I just made up. I thought I took a picture of it before but don't know where it is if I did. It was a 3.5" long blade to start with, and since it was already so screwed up, I decided to make it 3" long or less. So today I cut 2 pieces off with my angle grinder, and ground it down on the bench grinder. I took one of the tool rests off so I could grind vertically on the back of the blade to get a curve in it. I put a sanding disk in the angle grinder and clamped it in the vise and used it as a stationary grinder to soften the edges on the back of the blade. Then I sanded it with a 1/4 sheet sander and by hand. Now it's 2.8" long and should pierce plastic bottles and such very easily, without getting stuck. It looks like pics 3, 4, and 5, which include the knife I keep on my desk all the time.

That's an Outdoor Edge 3.0" RazorEDC Lite. It comes in a few different colors, and they make several other knives with interchangeable blades of 2.2" - 5.0" long. Plus they have knives without interchangeable blades.

Tool‑free blade swaps – Just press the push‑button for quick and ultra‑safe blade changes

Ultra‑light & grippy – Weighs a mere 2.1 oz, with a Grivory® handle and rubberized TPR inserts for superior control.

Compact yet capable – 3.0" blade, 6.8" overall—perfect for EDC without the bulk.

Secure and reliable – Features a lock‑back design and a stainless steel blade holder for the strength of a fixed blade.

Comes ready – Includes four razor‑sharp Japanese 420J2 stainless steel blades and a clip for convenient carry.

Combines RazorSafe™ System performance with everyday convenience. The RazorEDC Lite replaceable blade knife features a durable, one piece Grivory® handle with rubberized TPR inserts, and replaceable pocket clip. Comes with four blades. Compatible with 300 and 301 replacement blades.

Also available in a 3.5" model.

I have almost 4 dozen blades for it. The 4 that came with it and 42 more that I got on sale, cheap, from Devil Dog Concepts. One in awhile I'll use a butcher's steel to straighten out the edge of a blade, but if they're dull, or just covered with sticky gunk, I pull them toss them in a SHARPS container. You should always hang onto the tip of the blades when changing them, not like the guy in the video who doesn't follow their own instructions. It sure is nice being able to cut up lots of cardboard without worrying about sharpening my knife!

I ordered this Oknife U1 Ultra Snowflake Blue Utility Knife with Ceramic Blade 5 days ago, label created and awaiting USPS pickup. First Oknife made the U1 Folding Utility Knife with a G10 handle. This was an improvement of the old Otacle utility knife with the blade that extended out the front. I have one with a G10 handle wrapped with carbon fiber, plus a couple of older Otacles, one a titanium Pro. Then they came out with the U1 Pro Multitool Folding Utility Knife with Folding Screwdriver. I wanted to get a Stars & Stripes version, but kept waiting for a good sale to buy one, and never got it. Then they came out with the U1 Ultra Pocket Folding Utility Knife with Ceramic Blade, with an OAL (O-Aluminum) super aluminum alloy handle. They have a button lock, dual thumb studs, and a flipper. The U1 Ultra Navy Blue Pocket Folding Utility Knife with a white Ceramic Blade looks good to me, but I never got one of those either.

They also came out with a U1 Ultra Titanium Pocket Folding Utility Knife with Ceramic Blade. The same thing but Titanium instead of OAL. It was only 0.63 ounces heavier and 10 bucks more expensive. Now they really had my interest because a like titanium. A lot. Then they finally came along with a U1 Ultra Snowflake Colorful Utility Knife with Ceramic Blade and the U1 Ultra Snowflake Blue Utility Knife with Ceramic Blade that I ordered. It's a bew arrival and was 20% off so I went for it. The Snowflake anodized finish is created through a special surface treatment, producing a unique ice-like pattern that reflects light and adds depth. Both knives have a black Zirconium Oxide Ceramic blade, and one additional White ceramic replacement blade, allowing users to switch blades for a fresh look or continued use. If I break both blades I'll start using my stock of regular steel blades.

I'm going to order at least 1 Microtech Hera II Mini and probably 2 of them. The Mini has a 2.9" blade instead of 3.0" like the original recipe Hera. The weight is 1.9 oz. instead of 3.10 oz. And the overall length is only 5.9" instead of 7.5”. They must have somehow shortened the handle 1.5" while only shortening the blade 0.1", and cutting the weigh by 38%. It must be some kind of Microtech magic. A 2.9" blade is less likely to get me in trouble with the Flint Twp police than a 3" blade if they check it out. I'm seriously thinking about getting the Single Edge Black Standard Blue and the Recurve Black Standard Natural Clear both today. Blue because it's my favorite color, although I prefer a darker, more royal blue. And the natural finish because it looks like it means business. But the Single Edge Black Standard Orange and others have caught my eye too. O.D. Green, Merlot, Tan, Red, and plain old Black. They have about a dozen Single Edge or Recurve models in stock, but I'd love to be able to carry a double edge without risking years of hard time in prison.

I was getting ready to order more blades and stuff from Outdoor Edge, and joined their Rewards program first.

I can give a friend $5 off their first purchase, and earn 750 points if they they use my link and spend over $30. They have Free Shipping if you spend $30, too, which is a lot less than most places that offer free shipping. I put 2 items in my cart and was there already. The 750 points will get me 3/4 of the way to a $10 voucher I can use on my next order. It's a win-win situation, especially for me. ;D  They have a lifetime warranty, and some things on sale right now, too. Besides the interchangeable blades, their kitchen knives and cleaver, pocket knives and fixed blade knives look good too.

My U1 Ultra came today. Here it is with the extra blade and blade wrench/multi-tool that came with it. One more thing hanging on my key ring. The handle isn't as blue as I'd hoped, but the snowflake/ice crystal finish is cool, and the teeth on the wrench engage the teeth on the knob really well. Most of the time I use the flipper, the blade opens 3/4 of the way, not all the way, but I blame my numb finger for most of that. I really like the button lock that doesn't force you to put your finger in the path of the closing blade like a liner lock or frame lock. If I hold the button down, I can flip the blade back and forth repeatedly opening and closing. Since I have trouble with the flipper, I'll just open it by pressing the lock button and flipping it open. That's what I do with my Mettle 3 that doesn't even have a flipper. After slicing several pieces off a sheet of paper, I thought the blade was razor sharp. But I wouldn't make that claim if I didn't try it. The bald spot on my arm confirmed that it is indeed razor sharp, and since the ceramic is so hard, it should stay that way for a long time. When the hair's gone you can use it to exfoliate dead skin, but I wouldn't recommend it. ;)

I also bought an OKNIFE U1 Series Replacement Pocket Clip & Screw Kit for 5 bucks, but the parts are all polished stainless, except for an extra screw that's black. Maybe when I switch to the white blade I'll switch those parts out too. Spare Zirconium Oxide Ceramic blades are $21.99 for 10 white or 10 black. The Mohs hardness of zirconium oxide is about 8.5, which is the same as Chromium, and halfway between Topaz (8), and Sapphire (9). Diamond is 10 and Talc is only 1.

My package from Outdoor Edge should be her tomorrow. I ordered a 3.0” CARRY COMBO BLADE PACK - 12-PACK - BLACK. It's an All-Purpose EDC Blade Kit – 2 drop-point, 2 50% serrated drop-point, 2 sheepsfoot, 2 utility, 2 50% serrated utility, and 2 tanto blades. they're available with or without the black coating. I had a black spot on the orange rubber handle of my knife and couldn't pick it off, whatever it was. So I used a Sharpie to color the whole thing black. I even blacked out the blade holder with a Sharpie today. It should look good with the black blades, and the color seems to be sticking well for what it is. I'll post pics when I get a new blade on it.

I also ordered a ChowPal Camp Utensil - All-in-One Camp Utensil & Multi-Tool for Every Adventure. All-in-One Dining Tool – Combines knife, fork, and spoon so you can enjoy a full meal anywhere without juggling multiple utensils. Built-In Multi-Tool Functions – Includes can opener, bottle opener, screwdriver, and wrench—making camp life easier with fewer tools to pack. Razor-Sharp Folding Knife – 2.5" stainless steel blade delivers reliable cutting power for food prep, gear adjustments, or camp tasks. Compact & Lightweight – Weighs only 2.4 oz and packs into a nylon pouch, saving valuable space in your backpack. Durable Stainless Steel Build – Crafted from 420J2 stainless steel for long-lasting strength you can depend on trip after trip. It says the Overall Length is 6.5 inches, but it looks longer than that after you stick the fork on the other end of the spoon/knife part. It's long enough to get into those deep MRE and freeze-dried food pouches, anyway, and is a lot sturdier that the UCO gear SWITCH SPORK I have for the same purpose.

This morning I ordered a 7" Flip n' Saw compact, heavy-duty folding saw, since I had a 10% off coupon and there was free shipping. Aggressive triple-ground 7″ blade slices through wood and bone with ease—perfect for camp prep or game processing. Aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminum handle plus rubberized grip gives rugged, non-slip control even in wet, muddy conditions. Compact fold-and-carry design fits into pack, truck, or game field kit without dragging you down. Comes with heavy-duty nylon sheath for safe transport and quick access in the field—no gear left behind. Built to last & backed by Service-for-Life guarantee—gear you can trust when it matters most. I'll toss it in my ATV for emergencies that don't require the Short-Kutt Pocket Chainsaw. I added handles made from 2 pieces of cord and a broom handle to my pocket chainsaw instead of using the finger rings. The guy in the video is using some kind of handles too.

Here's my formerly orange Razor EDC Lite with one of the black blades I got today. After I took the pics, I put the other blade back in. I'll use it up and toss it in the Sharps container before I switch blades.
