VP Debate: "Greasy" Joe vs. "Saintly" Sarah

For me, it was no contest. Palin was as sharp as she was dressed tonight! She more than held her own. I hope McCain watches this debate over and over again. This is how he has to debate Obama.

What's the analysis from the DRTV community?

the little I've seen (remember I'm in a 4rd world country--oops, 3rd) was all Sarah.. even if 'greasy' Joe did better I wouldn't be able to admit to it.

I was watching CNN.  They had a scroll at the bottom showing how some idiots (oops I mean undecided) voters reacted.  It seemed to me Palin scored higher on this.

something similar on Fox. The guy running the reaction check said the adience was 50-50 at the beginning. Almost all Palin by the end. He said watch the polls shift accordingly.

Now you all know how much I love Palin ..but I will tell you honestly what I thought...

I thought that  Joe and Sarah both did well in their own elements. Joe Biden is a natural in the debate dept. and he does know his stuff. He didn't put his foot in his mouth at all I didn't think.. he was very respectful and other than misrepresenting a few "facts" about Obama and his voting record.. and talking about the past etc.. he did  good.
 Sarah was her warm and down to earth self. She did excellent on energy and taxes and the areas that she is an expert in. She  held her own on the foreign affairs and I thought for her lack of being in that position ( by her own admittance, 5 weeks) she did really good. She also was respectful and I thought really connected with the mainstream people.
 I thought that Gwen did a wonderful job moderating. Regardless of her personal choice..she was fair and gave each candidate equal time and the questions were more than fair to both parties.
Overall. ... I think the debate on both sides could actually be called a success.

I thought it was pretty even...but I think that Palin caught Biden two, maybe three times...really ZINGED him once...he was silent, smiled, and said, "Uhhh...." Good job. He did not expect her to debate as well as she did.
Her delivery is such that as you listen to her speak she is so folksy that Biden was lulled into thinking she's a homespun housewife, and all of a sudden she digs in and throws a jab...nice technique.
I don't think she had enough material, though- had to keep going back to the few strong points she had on her card, but that was her JOB, so I think she did very well.
Biden did well too. He'e a likable guy, but the smile he had on his face was TOO wide most of the time- almost a grimace.

I (we) already mailed our votes in. The party positions and methods are clear to me and quite distinct in purpose. Style and delivery are really not a factor to me, but merely a matter of acting ability. The longer a politician sincerely pretends to care, the better he/she gets at it.

The Supreme Court appointments to be made is the "no question who to vote for" issue to me.

I was a little disappointed that the media, who loves to trivialize Sarah Palin by endlessly re-running her swim suit video, did not have a swimsuit segment with Joe and Sarah strutting about in Speedos. Now THAT'S great journalism!!

Hate to sound pessimistic but unless some thing HUGE happens this race is over.  McCain killed himself when he voted FOR the "rescue" bill.  Heck he is still pushing that turkey.

The public doesn't want it, wall street does not need it.  If he had been a 'maverick' and voted against this he'd be leading in the polls instead of steadily slipping back.

I thought they both did a good job. And Ifill was alot better than I'd I thought she'd be.

He hasn't done himself any favors but I think when people look at the alternative they will hold their nose and vote for him anyway.
